Painted doors for kitchens have become increasingly popular in recent years, coming in any colour you can imagine and suiting both modern and traditional homes. They are an excellent choice for any space, however there are a few facts you’ll need to know before you make your mind up!

Colours galore!

Firstly, painted doors are available ready to order in an amazing range of stock colours but an additional option is having a custom colour made up for your doors, giving you the opportunity to exactly match the vision you have for your space. A couple of things to keep in mind with this is that custom colours do take a little longer to make which can understandably add some more wait to your job. It’s also a good idea to get a sample of your custom colour before you order it for all your doors so you know exactly what you’re getting, as a painted finish can appear entirely different to the swatch you may have selected it from, depending on the light in your home.

Take care

Painted doors are also susceptible to occasional chipping if knocked or scratched. This isn’t a major issue as wooden painted doors can easily be lightly sanded or repainted, but if you’ve got children or dogs that like to run around your kitchen like a whirlwind (as we do!) you might want to consider a more durable door style.

Switch it up

Another great thing about painted doors, that a lot of people don’t often realise, is that they can be repainted. A great option if you want to be able to freshen up your kitchen in the future without having to completely redo it. Worried about getting bored of that bold blue in your kitchen? Simply repaint it in the future to a colour that better suits your current taste. Just remember to use the correct paint and primer or get a professional in to ensure you get the best results for your home possible!

All in all

Overall, painted doors are a great option for your home, especially if you are looking to wow your friends and family! We love the different colour options and the flexibility that comes with being able to repaint them.
