Having a great kitchen layout with perfect storage is something we all crave in our home and once it’s done right it can last you a lifetime. But one thing that can change is our preferred aesthetic. A kitchen that can last a lifetime is a fantastic thing, but what happens when our overpowering passion for the colour blue starts to feel outdated, or perhaps you just need a refresh for your space. Here are a couple of ideas to keep your kitchen as the heart of your home.

Swapping Handles

Same door, many kitchen examples!

One thing we don’t often realise is how much of a big difference our handles make to our kitchen. Changing the colour or style of a handle can update our space quickly and effectively. You yourself will also notice a huge difference, especially when using your new handles. There’s something so nice about not only changing the look of something in your space but also the feel of it.

Freshen up your kitchen doors

Another great way to rethink your kitchen is repainting your kitchen doors. Although not doable with all types of kitchen doors, if you opted for a painted door it can be sanded and repainted to any colour that suits your current preference. Changing the colour of your kitchen can make a drastic change to the feel of your kitchen, making it brighter or more colourful with little hassle. We would recommend getting a specialist in to repaint for you as they will know the correct paint and techniques to use to successfully uplift your home.

Accessories

Something quick and easy you might not have thought of is swapping out your blinds or curtains. This can be a simple way to add some colour or freshen up the style of your room. Bonus points for matching your coloured curtains with some kitchen decor such as vases or bowls the same colour to tie it all together!

Worktops

Switching out your worktops is another big change you can do. Going from dark to light and vice versa creates a big change that will most definitely be noticed by your guests. You may also like to think about changing the depth of your work surfaces. Recently 20mm has been popular among families looking to create a more modern, updated look to there kitchen. Considering the edges on your worktop is also something to think about such as worktops with a shark nosed edge to add an extra detail. We should make a point of noting that when removing your worktop it isn’t always guaranteed that you won’t have to replace some tiles or splash-back.

Splash backs

Splash backs are another element of your kitchen to swap out to update your space. Whether your adding a mirrored splash back to make your room feel more open or introducing a burst of colour, it can make a huge difference.
